BIOGRAPHY
The first text published by Dorthe Jørgensen was a fairy-tale. She was only ten years old, which explains the topic of her story: a boy and a girl were caught by a troll and a witch but rescued by the police ... “Nulla dies sine linea - but there may well be weeks,” said Walter Benjamin. In 1983, Dorthe Jørgensen had her debut as an academic writer. Her first book chapter was a harsh critique of Jürgen Habermas’s treatment of aesthetics in his theory of communication. By now, Dorthe Jørgensen has published 22 books and 170 book chapters and journal articles, most of which are single-authored. Her publications deal with topics in aesthetics, ethics, metaphysics, hermeneutics, phenomenology, theology, and the philosophies of religion, history, science, experience, and education. Dorthe Jørgensen has cooperated with people in various professions who represent most of society. They include artists, writers, architects, designers, and musicians; all kinds of academics; priests and university theologians, teachers and pedagogues, politicians, and union workers. As a teacher, Dorthe Jørgensen has prioritized dialogue by establishing experimental forums such as Saloon Art and Aesthetics, the Metaphysical Laboratory, and Phenomenology in Praxis. However, first and foremost, she is a writer of philosophical essays who loves what has a poetic touch to it.
